If you’re anything like me you have a love/hate relationship with the beach. The soothing sound of lapping waves, the warmth of the sun, and the smells of sun tan lotion are sharply jarred by feelings of vulnerability and discomfort as your swim wear moves, shifts, and bulges in every nook and cranny of your body.

No matter how in or out of shape, all women fight this losing battle. And with the traditional swim suit materials only adding insult to injury the time has come to start a swim wear revolution!

By creating a new line of eco-friendly, custom fitted, vintage inspired swim suits – Pierogi Picnic is empowering you to hit the beach in comfort and style.

Each piece in the new line will be custom made to the wearer’s measurements out of soft and breathable upcycled cotton. The suits will be lined for fit and modesty and will include tailoring designed to flatter any figure. And the best part? The designs will be bright, colorful and affordable!!!

Being a lover of hearts, red, and…well….love, I always find joy in this time of year when everything erupts in these themes. I’ll be the first to tell you that I don’t condone consumerism or gluttonous chocolate binging – but there is something to celebrating the people and things for which you have affections.

I am, have been, and will always be obsessed with hats!

There’s something about snuggling your noggin in a soft, warm and cozy cover that makes the arrival of cold temps just a hint more bearable. I have a whole collection of soft fuzzy hats with ears, elegant hats with fanciful trim, impractical vintage pillbox hats with netting, and the classic ear flap hats for just keeping out the cold.

It’s also no secret that I have a slight obsession with bows. After designing a bow-laden slouch hat for myself last winter and receiving endless compliments, I’ve created a handful for my Etsy. Continue reading →

Creative Day: New Designs!

So I’ve already broken my vow not to experiment with new designs pre-holidays. I’m supposed to be focusing on PP staples for both seasonal online shoppers, but also the upcoming DIY Trunk Show.

But alas – I woke up this morning with what feels like the beginnings of a nasty flu (David has had his for six days now!) and I just didn’t have the heart to sweatshop myself out. Renegade Prep #4: Down to the Wire

Just 3 full days until the Renegade blast off! We’re almost done with preparations and are just putting the finishing touches on merchandising and signage when BHAM! A new product idea hits me! Inspiration always flourishes under pressure – does it not?

So now I’m debating whether I should give this new design a couple of go’s and make a handful for the fair? Or should I just focus on making extra designs that are tried, tested, and true?

The solution – do both or die trying! David’s screenprinting one final round of clothing tags as I type and print out a few more signs. I’m hoping that tomorrow, post ACS productivity, I’ll find some time to finalize some products that are in process and then maybe I’ll have a spare hour or two to pump these new T Aprons out.

I’ll report back at the end of tomorrow to see what came of the day. ; )
